The difference between bromine and bromine water:

Bromine and bromine water are both bromine. Is there any difference between them? Here, it is clear that although bromine and bromine water have similarities, they are completely different.

1. Bromine (liquid bromine, Br2) is a deep reddish brown liquid, and bromine vapor is a reddish brown gas

2. Bromine water is an orange yellow liquid (an aqueous solution of bromine, mainly composed of Br2).

3. Bromine vapor and nitrogen dioxide can be distinguished by adding water, silver nitrate solution, carbon tetrachloride, etc. Silver nitrate reacts with bromine to form a light yellow precipitate of silver bromide (gas soluble in water to form gas water containing bromine ions), while NO2 dissolves in water to form nitric acid and nitric oxide, without reacting with silver nitrate.
